When will the tourist season begin? When will the hotels be opened?

Since the end of the week, the good news has been coming out. Mr. President is signaling that we may have a double holiday at the end of May. Our Minister of Tourism states that as of the end of May, domestic tourism can begin.

Now we have to break the devil's leg somehow. If the end of May does not start, we should start June 15 or the end of June. Of course, we will start with the domestic market first. Not only we, but all countries, tourism will start with domestic tourism first. For example, Russia postponed international flights to the beginning of August. Italy stated that it is closed to foreign tourism this year. The same decision was made in Spain. German authorities state that this summer summer holiday will be a dream.

The French president stated that overseas holidays would not be possible before September. On April 27, the EU commission met and discussed whether the borders of the European Union should be opened. And as a general decision, the EU countries find it appropriate to stay within themselves before this year is fully recovered.

These decisions also support the report of the World Tourism Organization on 24 March 2020. According to the report, 3 million people traveled worldwide during the 2003 shock crisis and 37 million people traveled less during the 2009 global crisis. It plans to travel less than 440 million people in the 2020 corona crisis. This corresponds to 30% of those traveling around the world.

So what was the cost of reducing the number of travelers and what would it be? Again, according to the report of the World Tourism Organization on March 24, 2020, the cost in the shock crisis in 2003 cost $ 50 billion, and in the global crisis in 2009, it costed $ 99 billion. The cost in 2020 is projected to be $ 450 billion lost. It corresponds to 30% of the world tourism income. The World Tourism Organization also states that this loss can be compensated in 5 to 7 years.

According to the study conducted by Oxford Economics on March 15, 2020, 470 thousand people lost their jobs in the tourism sector in the 2009 global crisis. The same institution estimates that 2.8 to 3.4 million people from the tourism industry could lose their jobs in the 2020 corona crisis along with the supply chain worldwide.

In order to understand how the virus will leave such deep traces in the tourism industry, we should examine the report of the Singapore Technology University that the countries have identified recovery processes by evaluating the situation in the world. Accordingly, the calendar of countries achieving 99% success with the corona war is as follows:

• Germany, Spain and France, on May 15-18,

• Italy, Belgium and Greece on May 21 -25,

• Britain and Russia on May 27-28,

• Turkey is on 29 May,

• The Netherlands will achieve 99% success on June 9.
According to the same report, the calendar of these countries to achieve 100% success with the corona war is as follows:

• Greece on July 13,

Russia on July 20,

• Belgium on July 27,

• Germany, France and Spain on August 1-7,

• Turkey on August 12,

• Britain on August 14,

• Italy on 25 August,

• The Netherlands will achieve 100% success on 8 September.
